Тут DIDI на прошлой неделе выставил стихотворение про кота. Уж очень оно мне понравилось. Перевёл я его на английский и дополнил отсебятиной.
Да простят меня не владеющие языком, а остальным надеюсь понравится.


Nine VS One
(improvised translation based on Sergei Plotov’s poem)

I talked to my Cat the other night.
I’m lucky He was in a mood
For a good conversation, instead of a fight
Or being His usual rude.

I asked Him: “Please, tell me, what is it like
To live more than one life?”
He looked with surprise and said: “Listen, Mike,
Nine lives are no different than five.”

“Excuse me…” - I said: “But, that’s not my name.”
“Whatever…” – the Cat replied.
“You’re asking me how to play the game?
So, open your ears wide.”

For starters, remember one simple rule:
There are no “later” and “then”.
Stop chasing tomorrow. Don’t be a fool.
Enjoy every moment, Glen.

“My name isn’t…”
-”STOP! And don’t interrupt!”
- Cat angrily hissed at me.
He got irritated and rather abrupt.
And stuck His sharp claws in my knee.

“Okay, I’ll be quiet. Continue, my friend.
Please, call me whatever you want.”
“One more outburst and the lesson will end!”
- He purred in my face with a taunt.

Where were we? Remind me, Steven, please.
“Cats’ wisdom?”
- Of course! Oh, Yes!
I’m teaching you how to live with ease
And how to deceive the Death!

Enjoy every minute of life, as I said.
Don’t waste a single step.
Eat food when you’re hungry, my dear Ted.
Feel sleepy? So, go take a nap.

Relax watching people for hours, Sam.
For “mystery” check every box.
As long, as you’re right - don’t give a damn.
That’s, Nick, how you beat the Clocks!

“Hold on! But, then you still gonna die!
It’s simply unknown when.”
Cat stared at me funny, exhaling: “Bye!
THERE ARE NO “LATER” and “THEN”!..”
